Weight Management
At a logical, rational level, people are often experts in weight management, perhaps having read books and tried different diets and exercise regimes. But behaviours and habits don’t usually respond well to common sense and logic. They act at a deeper level, which is unconscious.
At that deep, unconscious level, there may be a programme operating which instructs you that you need more food than you actually do, or that you need to maintain extra weight. Over eating may be a way of lifting depression, unhappiness, anxiety, or coping with stress. It may relieve boredom, a reward, or a way to celebrate or relax. It may simply be an old programme running from childhood which says you must eat everything on the plate.
And working at a conscious level can be difficult for most people, as dieting focuses your attention on food. What can be helpful is to get to those unconscious programmes. To re-write them and have them support what you consciously want – a healthy eating and exercise plan which allows you to safely and comfortably achieve the right weight for you.
